Bengii Worth

Bengii Worth is a Dallas rapper (AKA One Time Bray of the rap group, JVNLS)

whose raspy voice and dope ass lyrics are some of the most hard hitting in the metroplex.

Bengii Worth, or Bengemin Bray, is an Arlington native that helped make the rap group JVNLS back in 2013. His flow is the kind of crafty found in Childish Gambino’s music and ability to use word play to get his point across. Although Bengii is a part of JVNLS, he still releases his own solo records. One of those being his most popular track to date, ”Nash”.

Nash is titled after the star basketball player Steve Nash, who is referenced multiple times throughout his rhymes. Nash has a beat that will get you hyped to do anything from take a test, talk to your crush, or of course, play an intense game of ball with the homies. It features one of the JVNLS star rappers, Stoney the User, whose high pitched voice is a great contrast to Bengii’s raspy sound.

Bengii Worth is full of incredible records that cause you to start dancing in your seat like “42”, “Sugacoat”, and “Used To”. Although Bengii doesn’t have a full EP released, all of his singles and projects with JVNLS keep us only wishing that he did have one. Keep up with this young talent on Twitter @inBRAYwetrust.

I do choreography as a hobby and am always down for a song with a good bass drop, but not solely for dance. I enjoy vibing or turning up at parties with hype songs as well. If you identify with either of those statements, well, the musical stylings of the artist from south London known only as Troyboi are pretty amazing not only for practicing musicality, but for hype at a party or show as well. Troyboi’s songs are all electronic dance and hip hop, and even the songs with lyrics have very little. He also centers the beat around drums, each song starts with and has a focus on drums. Maybe that’s the reason EDM is such an underground genre of music. As far as albums are concerned, he hasn’t released one yet. He is however saving a lot of work for a debut album coming soon, according to Reid Golden of noiseprn.com. Hopefully that album, Left Is Right, comes to us sooner rather than later. Not that his singles are bad, far from it actually, and he’s been making them since 2013, one of his first being Souls. Since his career has been entirely singles, he appears on albums and has a lot of collab songs as well. Appearing first on All Trap Music Vol. 3 in 2014 with 4321, then volume 4 in 2015 with Fireman, and five other guest appearances on mixtapes albums and EPs. His most recent single, Troyboi has his own unique sound that’s even in his collaborative tracks whether he’s on the build up or the drop. My favorites are ili, which has a bit of an old school vibe to it, and Grimey, which is a bit more on the “for dance” spectrum in my opinion since it has a very punctuated repeating sound for the beat. I encourage you to read his most recent single, What You Know? Even if it’s not one of my favorites, because Troyboi has something for everyone in his music, and he’s an artist who deserves your attention for at least on song.

Sabrina Claudio is one of music’s lost jewels. Her treble heavy voice is one that hypnotises you. Her lyricism is like no other, she is able to talk about topics from drug abuse to relationship drama, you get it all with this beautifully engaging vocalist.

Hailing from Miami, Florida this sloutrist gained her fame through her YouTube channel, UrbanPouvoir, where she covered artist such as Beyonce and Mariah Carey. Her most popular cover was a mashup of Bryson Tiller and Mariah Carey called “Don’t Shake It Off”.

Since then Sabrina has released one studio album titled “Confidently Lost” that ended up ranking number 38 in Best Ever Albums “Top 40 albums” chart. Which, after listening to the record, isn’t a surprise.

Sabrina’s voice is so mesmerizing, that no matter what she is singing about you would instantly fall in love with it. Thankfully her lyricism is just as good as her vocals. Her vulnerability and openness on every track is impressive. This is not any more apparent than in her track “Confidently Lost” (sharing the name with the album).

In this song she lets it be known that she is “not hiding anything”. In the song she speaks about how her lack of a romantic relationship only makes her more comfortable and confident in herself. She mentions how she doesn’t need others to define her for her to love herself in both her personal life and her music career.

Sabrina just recently released a new single titled “Belong To You” which leads many to believe that there is soon to be another album from this songstress. But if you’re anything like me, you’ll be playing Confidently Lost on repeat until that time. Keep an eye on Sabrina Claudio, she definitely has big things coming to her.

If you like hearing bass that makes your heart skip a beat, and lyrics that transport you to a different world Mvkeyy J is definitely an artist you need to check out. His latest EP Magnum Opus is the best piece of work that he has to date.

Mvkeyy J is a Arlington native rapper that produces sick beats that lock perfectly with his smooth flow. With songs like Vibe and #throwitintheback, it’s no surprise that this young man is this weeks SoundCloud artist.

As I said, Vibe is my favorite track of his for one simple reason, it’s a freaking bop! His collaboration with Anthony Washington is iconic. Mvkeyy’s rap verses give you the confidence to tell your haters that they need to stop trying to steal your vibe, and his west indian pop feeling beat is one that you won’t easily forget. Plus Washington’s smooth vocals on the hook will have you singing this track over and over again in the shower.

As of now, Mvkeyy J only has one EP out, but hopefully soon we will be hearing much more from this future pop star.
